In December 2015, the United States Congress Reauthorized the James Zadroga 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, providing an additional $4.5 billion to compensate victims of the September 11 tragedy, and keeping the Fund open to accept new claims until for a period of five years after the new regulations come into effect.
